Murder arrest after student stabbed near campus
Police responded to a report that a man in his 20s had collapsed in Oxford Street, Leicester, on Tuesday evening
A 18 year old man has been arrested on suspicion of murdering a student who was fatally stabbed near a university campus based in Leicester.
The victim, is a male in his 20s, he was taken to the the LRI ( Leicester Royal Infirmary ) However due to the fatal injury's the male passed away short time after arriving to hospital.
Vice-Chancellor of De Montfort University ( DMU ) is believed to of said "I'm absolutely devastated by the tragic death of one of our students."
Police said there was some sort of altercation involved with another male in the street who left the scene. Officers will be taking all inquires in the area and looking for anyone with CCTV or dashcam footage to come forward. A member of the public was believed to be giving CPR at the time
